Migrating to SSD

MySpace just converted their datacenter hard drives to SSD. While the smaller size and lower power consumption were compelling reasons to make the switch, the biggest reason was performance increase. As SSD prices continue to drop, more datacenters will find it cost effective to make the migration to this new technology, especially where performance is critical.

I don't think the true potential of SSDs will be realized until they have been developed further. That is, at least for non-business use. The decreased loading or boot-up times definitely do not out-weigh the price difference between SSDs and regular HDDs.
